Heads up! Many Travel Documents for Minors that Must be Notarized

May 6, 2015

Schools almost out and summer plans are going to start! Before you travel be sure to check whether or not you need to get a minor permission form for children traveling abroad notarized.

A recent article published by the National Notary Association states:

“According to the Department of Homeland Security, if a child is traveling abroad with one parent, the other parent must supply a letter granting permission. If the child is traveling with an adult other than his/her parents, both parents must provide written permission. These travel permission forms for minors often require that both parents’ signatures be notarized.”
